What the farm offers

The farm provides a practical, relevant and realistic experience of farming, the rural environment, conservation and land use.

The main crops are arable and typify the farms in the area. We grow sugar beet, wheat, peas, onions, potatoes and rape.

We have species rich semi-natural grassland, which is home to many rare birds including turtle doves, lapwings and owls as well as more common birds.

We are planting a new orchard and have many mature trees including; oak, horse chestnut, mulberries, silver birch and willows.

We have a wildlife area with pond and a mini-beast discovery area.

The animals on the farm are mainly rare breeds and include; cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, donkeys, rabbits, horses, pigs, peacocks and doves as well as rescued animals.

There are many activities where the children can be involved with the animals. We also have many old farming artefacts and archives.

We have staff trained to the standard of Countryside Education Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) and we work closely with FACE and ACCESS.

We provide a safe and secure setting and recommend you book a free preparation visit. We have facilities for disabled people and can assist you with your risk assessment.
